Hi, I’m Steiger

I help thoughtful, self-aware people who understand their patterns but still feel stuck inside them.

For a long time, I believed that if I understood a problem well enough, I could solve it. That belief led me into research on human perception and attention, a career in artificial intelligence, and eventually into coaching.

What I discovered was that understanding why we behave a certain way does not automatically help us behave differently. The mind may know that we are safe while the body is still preparing for danger.

That gap between knowing and changing became the center of my work.

  • PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with research in human perception
  • Master’s degree with a focus on human attention
  • ICF Professional Certified Coach
  • More than 2,500 hours of client coaching
  • NLP Master Certification
  • Training in parts-informed coaching, emotional regulation, somatic practices, EFT, hypnosis, mindfulness, and visual storytelling
  • Licensed Massage Therapist
  • Yoga teacher
  • Former AI/ML researcher, engineering manager, solutions architect, and product manager
  • Certification of Business Excellence from UC Berkeley Haas

These experiences help me move between different ways of understanding a problem. We can think carefully about a situation, notice what is happening emotionally, listen to the body, and identify something practical to try in your life.

The personal side

I am proudly gay. I enjoy climbing, movement, learning, long conversations, and ideas that make me question what I thought I understood.

I know what it is like to use achievement as proof of worth, to understand other people more easily than myself, and to feel that saying no might cost me love or belonging.

I also know that these patterns can change—not by shaming the parts of us that developed them, but by helping those parts discover that we have more choices now.

I do not have your answers.

What I can offer is careful attention, honest reflection, a wide range of tools, and a steady place from which you can begin finding answers that are genuinely your own.
